海因斯曾在公司内部散发一封电子邮件，抱怨《使命召唤》系列游戏可以跨平台发行，而Bethesda的游戏却被迫成为Xbox独占游戏。
海因斯说，他职业生涯中最糟糕的体验是“加入一个我真心喜欢的地方，那里的人我真心敬重，但到了那里之后才发现实际情况并非如此。”（“to join a place that I genuinely was a fan of and people there I genuinely held in high regard and esteem, and then to get there and see how it actually worked.”）
